The basis of the philosophy of the FAMU Habitat for Humanity Chapter can be explained through the moral worth belief, Utilitarianism:
“To exercise the greatest good for the greatest numbers of people in an effort to provide decent and suitable housing for the less fortunate.”

The goals of the FAMU Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter are to:
· Provide exposure of Habitat for Humanity to under-represented individuals and minorities within and throughout our community
· Educate by planting seeds of humanitarianism, volunteerism, and activism in the FAMU and Tallahassee community
· Represent those concerns of shelter poverty by actively raising awareness of our Habitat mission to local and state government
· Facilitate and foster building fundraising efforts and monetary contributions from corporations, local sponsors and businesses, organizations, the FAMU community, citizens of Leon County, as well as surrounding areas
